Zepher Flight Labs opens hydrogen UAV facility in Bingen

The German facility celebrated its launch with a ribbon-cutting attended by leaders and partners, and is expected to contribute to jobs growth in Klickitat County.

Zepher Flight Labs (ZFL), part of Heven’s U.S. operations, has opened its new facility in downtown Bingen with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by community leaders, state officials and industry partners. The site at 317 W. Steuben Street will be a regional hub for advanced drone design, production and integration, supporting hydrogen-powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) development.

“This new site represents more than a new address; it’s a continuation of ZFL’s remarkable journey and a bold step into the future,” says Adam Stolz, CEO of ZFL. “We’re proud to build on ZFL’s foundation of engineering excellence and help accelerate the transition to hydrogen-powered flight.”

Attendees toured parts of the facility, viewed ZFL’s Z1 Group 2 VTOL UAV and met members of the engineering and leadership teams. Bentzion Levinson, CEO and founder of Heven, says: “Our vision is to redefine what’s possible with hydrogen-powered, runway-independent drones; building platforms that adapt to mission needs without compromising on endurance or sustainability.”

The facility is expected to create 20 additional jobs this year and further strengthen Klickitat County’s manufacturing sector, which has been a key driver of local economic growth.
