The two largest users of the Chinook CH-47 helicopter are the U.S. Army and the UK's Royal Air Force. Production of new aircraft, as well as some mods to the CH-47 fleet are planned over the next few years.
Kaman Composites is to expand its facility to accommodate the increased production scale that the MH-47 assemblies will require, ready for the start of the program in the second half of 2021.
A new deal ensures that there will be available engines for Boeing's Philadelphia production line through 2024 to serve the U.S. Army and foreign partner nations' new aircraft requirements.
