GKN sparks up supply chain to deliver C-27J nacelles to Leonardo

The nacelle’s composite components are produced at GKN Aerospace’s Cowes site and integrated with a variety of parts sourced from the EU, UK, and US, ranging from titanium machining to wiring systems.

Radia attracts partners to build world’s largest aircraft

WindRunner is an aircraft designed for its primary mission: To fly turbine blades up to 105m in length directly to wind farm sites, landing on semi-prepared dirt runways as short as 1,800 metres.

29 February 2024 Flight tests took place at Leonardo’s PZL-Swidnik facility in Lublin, Poland, with Leonardo’s SW4 and SW4 Solo RUAS/OPH helicopters.

Leonardo and Daedalean complete flight testing of AI for advanced navigation

A year-long project equipped helicopters with cameras, computer and interface display, identifying aerial traffic including birds and drones, determining location in GPS-denied environments, and offering landing guidance.
