First customer takes delivery of China's C919

On arrival at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport it passed through a water gate and was officially commissioned into the fleet of CEA. It is expected to be put into commercial use in the spring of 2023.

10 November The WFA is the first FAA TSO certified avionics component to be developed and manufactured by a company in China.

COMAC C919 weather antenna gains FAA tick

This WFA is fully independently designed, produced and manufactured by LETRI, and has now achieved FAA TSO-C63f airworthiness certification with the support from Collins.

5 October Cleared for commercial service.

China issues type certification for the COMAC C919

The C919 features an integrated propulsion system, bringing the Nexcelle joint venture-supplied nacelle, thrust reverser and exhaust system together with CFM International's LEAP-1C powerplant.

25 August An inlet for the C919 nacelle system is inspected at Middle River Aerostructure Systems’ production facility prior to shipment.

COMAC reports C919 flight testing is complete

Seven C919s have been built and flown to date, with test flights at four locations across China. In May, COMAC achieved the first flight of the initial production jetliner which will be delivered to an airline customer.

8 December Safran Aircraft Engines and Albany International extend their partnership to develop 3D composites for CFM engines to the year 2046.

Safran and Albany International extend composite collaboration

The partners have built three plants in Rochester (New Hampshire), Commercy (France) and Queretaro (Mexico). These are dedicated to 3D composite parts and have produced 130,000 for the LEAP engine.

4 November FLHYT’s AFIRS 228 will be factory installed on the COMAC C-919 aircraft.

FLYHT inks C-919 communications agreement with COMAC

The C-919 is a 168 seater, narrow-body commercial aircraft and FLYHT's AFIRS 228 will be used for communications during the cold weather certification due to be conducted in Canada.

CAAC paves the way for C919 to move into flight testing

Six C919 flight test aircraft will now carry out more intensive flight test missions, verifying the type's safety and reliability, and ensuring compliance with airworthiness regulations, following a ceremony in Nanchang.
