PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Air Technical Industries
Air Technical Industries (ATI) has announced the launch of a revolutionary, fully electro-mechanical version of its flagship Reversible Boom Crane. By replacing traditional hydraulic cylinders with heavy-duty machine-screw actuators, ATI has engineered a 100% mechanically operated lifting solution designed for both clean environments and demanding heavy industrial manufacturing applications.

Engineered and Designed for Purpose and Precision
The development of this exclusive electro-mechanical design was sparked by a growing demand from industries that must avoid hydraulic fluids. Designed to eliminate hydraulic fluid risks while delivering rugged industrial capability, the new crane supports a wide range of applications.
This makes the new crane an ideal choice for sensitive environments as well as for heavy industrial manufacturing:
Clean & Controlled Environments:
- Cleanroom manufacturing (pharmaceutical, medical devices)
- Food & beverage processing (no contamination risk)
- Laboratories requiring precision positioning
- Aerospace assembly requiring smooth, controlled motion
Heavy & Industrial Manufacturing:
- Forging & metal fabrication
- Machining & assembly operations
- Automotive & heavy equipment manufacturing
- Maintenance and plant operations
- Energy and infrastructure equipment handling
Unmatched Versatility and Control
The crane features a counterbalanced base design, allowing the boom to reach free and clear beyond the base for maximum shop floor versatility. Its articulating boom functions include a knuckle joint and powered extension, providing a range of motion that "off-the-shelf" hydraulic cranes simply cannot match.
Key Technical Specifications:
- Lifting Capacity: Available in models ranging from 1,000 to 20,000 pounds.
- Superior Load Handling: Unlike carry-deck or truck cranes, lifting capacity is not reduced based on boom angle, allowing for exceptional horizontal reach performance, even at low elevations.
- Precision Rotation: A gearmotor-powered slewing drive provides mast rotation up to 30° to each side, enabling access to hard-to-reach spaces and for precise positioning.
- Dual Lifting Options: Operators can lift using the boom actuators or an integrated electric cable winch for vertical hoisting with zero lateral movement.
- Advanced Power: The system is energized by a 24VDC Lithium-iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery system, ensuring a long-life cycle and quiet operation.
A Tool Built for the Operator
Safety and ergonomics are at the forefront of the design. The walk-behind drive unit features fully variable speed control, ranging from a "creep speed" for tight maneuvering to a fast walk for transit. While a wired pendant is standard, the system can be upgraded to a wireless radio control for enhanced operator freedom.
"This revolutionary new crane truly delivers on the promise of making the job easier," said a spokesperson for Air Technical Industries. "It is an ergonomic tool that eliminates manual effort even for smaller loads, while providing the smooth, quiet, and precise motion our customers demand".
