Audio International, a DeCrane Aircraft Company, has introduced the latest in full color passenger interface technology for the business aircraft cabin. The Spectra 20 Series of fully programmable LCD Touch Control Switches uniquely combines full spectrum color LCD technology with interactive menus to provide unique, customized passenger control within a limited cabin space.
The first switch released in the new LCD lineup is the Spectra 35 Full Color Touch Control Switch, which has been integrated in and currently serves as the passenger interface for the cabin environment on a large business jet. This compact, lightweight switch provides the advantage of excellent cabin entertainment and environmental control from one very small area.
Displaying full color graphics at 230 x 460 resolution, the versatile Spectra 35 touch-control switch package is designed to accept standard headphones or noise canceling headphones. This switch has the capability of receiving analog or digital audio while delivering stereo audio to the integrated headphone jacks. With a depth of 1.51" and a 4.93" x 2.48" footprint, the Spectra 35 switch presents the optimal integration size.
In installations where depth is an issue, AI provides the option of a split version of the switch, called the Spectra 35S. With a remote electronics package, the depth of the unit is reduced to 0.79" while retaining the same 4.93" x 2.48" footprint.
The Spectra 35 touch control switch is easily programmable, and Audio International has the ability to customize control graphics to match virtually any aircraft interior décor. As an option the Spectra 35 utilizes a specially designed, removable cover bezel as required for custom applications.
Along with Audio International's full array of Cabin Management and Entertainment Systems, the Spectra 35 and the Spectra 35S Split Switch will be on display for demonstration at the 2006 NBAA show in mid-October in Orlando.
