Barnes Aerospace awarded ISO 14001:2004 certification

Barnes Aerospace, a global provider of manufacturing solutions and comprehensive component overhaul and repair services and a business of Barnes Group Inc. (NYSE:B), has achieved one of the highest levels of environmental certification, ISO 14001:2004, at two of its U.S.-based divisions, highlighting the Company's commitment to minimizing environmental impact.

This certification by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) recognizes the company's commitment to managing the ecological impact of its business and its consideration of environmental issues in its decision-making practices. Barnes Aerospace's Lansing, Michigan, and Ogden, Utah facilities received the ISO 14001:2004 certification for reducing natural gas, electricity and water use, as well as decreasing non-hazardous waste and process waste scrap. Both facilities also upgraded their chemical cleaning lines to reduce environmental impact.

The two divisions received the ISO:14001:2004 certification following an in-depth assessment of the company's environmental management system. In addition to comprehensive on-site audits, auditors also conducted employee interviews and detailed document reviews before awarding this certification
