PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Del Mar Avionics
Del Mar Avionics will be exhibiting two Model O Hydra Set ® precision load positioners at the AeroDef 2011 Exposition. These units are capable of positioning valuable loads to 1,000 pounds (452.5 kg) to within 0.001" (0.025mm) thus eliminating damage when mating or de-mating valuable loads. The NASA certified wireless model provides a safe, remote means for mating of heavy loads in applications where a crane or hoist is employed and starts and stops might otherwise result in oscillations with resulting in damage to critical components.
Hydra Set load positioners, are available in 13 models to safely and reliably position critical loads of up to 300 ton (272,000 kg) to within 0.001 inch (.025mm). These precision load positioners ensure protection from damage to sensitive, expensive components, instantly indicating any resistance to the load's linear travel caused by binding or chafing of the load against unsuspected obstacles or obstructions.
Wireless models can be operated from a distance of up to 1,000' (305 meters) from the positioner, and an available remote control console with a positive fluid retention system protects spacecraft and other clean-room components from contamination.
Since 1965, Del Mar Avionics has supplied more than 3,000 Hydra Set Precision Load Positioners worldwide for aerospace; commercial aviation; military; nuclear and fossil fuel power generation; shipbuilding; railway and other heavy industry applications.
