Vertical Power introduces world's first web-based aircraft electrical system planner
Monday, 23 May 2011

Vertical Power announces the new VP-X Planner, a free web-based aircraft electrical system planning tool that allows builders to plan, print, and share the electrical system for their experimental aircraft. The VP-X Planner was designed by Vertical Power to simplify the electrical system planning process and provide a tool to allow lots of "what if?" planning. The VP-X Planner can be found at www.VerticalPower.com .

Planning the electrical system can be one of the more challenging aspects of building an aircraft. Finding and organizing lots of information from many vendors is difficult and learning to use an engineering drawing program can be daunting. The Vertical Power VP-X planner solves many of these problems by providing a library of commonly used electrical devices, and automatically generating an electrical system drawing.

The VP-X Planner allows builders to:

- Build a list of all the electrical devices in the aircraft, including avionics, lights, pumps, trim, flaps, and alternator.

- Configure each device manually or choose from a library of dozens of electrical devices.

- Automatically or manually populate the power pins in the VP-X.

- Tracks total system current draw, number of devices, and view a shopping list of suppliers.

- View and print an automatically-generated electrical system wiring diagram.

- Share the configuration with others, and request a review by Vertical Power staff.

"When compared to old-fashion wiring techniques, Vertical Power is significantly easier, more reliable, and includes more features for less weight. The VP-X Planner makes the planning process that much easier," said Marc Ausman, President of Vertical Power Inc. "The VP-X Planner even draws your electrical system diagram for you."
