Dynomax Inc. announced today that its aerospace operations has received purchase orders for high-precision machined metal components for the Bombardier Learjet 85 business jet. Dynomax will provide structural components for use in the manufacture of the aircraft bulkhead, fuselage and wings. Dynomax will also produce several detailed parts for the initial phase of the Learjet 85 program primary flight control package, which includes aileron, elevator and rudder components.
Bombardier selected Dynomax because of its demonstrated responsiveness to strict design specifications and demanding delivery times. "We are extremely pleased to be working with Bombardier," stated Dr. Richard Zic, Dynomax founder and CEO. "Our continued relationship is a result of our commitment to advanced technology and lean manufacturing," he added.
Launched in October 2007, the Learjet 85 aircraft fits between the midsize and the super midsize segments of the market. The business jet is expected to have a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.80 and a transcontinental range of up to 3,000 nautical miles (5,556 km). Dynomax will build the components at its Wheeling, Illinois facility.
