To satisfy heavy industries' growing demand for large capacity, accurate hardness testing facilities, Bowers Metrology UK has launched the NEMESIS 9500™ series of Floor Type, Universal Hardness Testers. Designed for use within demanding industrial environments, the 3 model, heavy-duty range is able to cover a variety of test loads, of up to 250kgf, 750kgf or 3000kgf. With a maximum weight capacity of 500kg and an overall height of 2 meters, the robust new testers have height / throat-depth capacities of 650mm / 400mm respectively; as a result the range is able to accommodate the bulkiest of test samples.

Based on the advanced technology of the company's popular NEMESIS 9000 hardness tester, the flexible new range is equipped with superior load cell, closed loop systems guaranteeing excellent accuracy and a wide range of fast testing procedures. Bowers' large capacity range is able to undertake Rockwell, Vickers and Brinell hardness tests, in addition to pure depth test methods such as H, HVT and HBT.

The generously dimensioned frames of the NEMESIS 9500 series are equipped with heavy-duty motorised (100mm diameter) spindles and descending test heads, allowing test pieces to be positioned, and tests taken at the required working height. NEMESIS 9500 test heads are equipped with 6 position modular turrets (indenters and objectives) in addition to high-quality optical zoom video systems with 5 mp HD cameras.

The NEMESIS 9000 range features high-performance, PC driven automatic and manual indent measurement facilities with automatic filing and storage functions, in addition to refined algorithms for automatic measurement on materials normally considered less suitable for automatic measurement.
