Defence and security company Saab has received an additional order to the agreement under which Saab will provide technical publication documentation work from Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation for its Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) programme.
The initial contract was signed in 2009 and covers the area of technical publications development during the years 2010-2015. Under this contract, Saab develops a comprehensive package of maintenance and support documentation for both the MRJ70 as well as for the MRJ90 aircraft including, for example, maintenance manuals as well as spare parts catalogues.
The recent additional contract stipulates that Saab establish a long term S1000D Technical Publications Production System (TPPS) tailored for the MRJ programme. As a consequence of this contract, Saab has signed agreements with several sub suppliers such as, CORENA for a standardized S1000D software, acrolinx for intelligent linguistic handling and Simonsoft for XML editor.
"Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation requested Saab to find the best suited Technical Publications Production System for the development of MRJ Technical Publications and the associated long term support. Based on our requirements, we selected these suppliers as part of this solution. This will give Saab an extraordinary ability to serve our customer," says Lars Brännström, Vice President, Saab business area Support and Services.
