Its research & development team has created TRIM® E950, a boron and formaldehyde donor free, bio-stable cutting and grinding fluid, whose suitability for purpose has been confirmed by Rolls Royce approval.

These qualities make TRIM® E950 an important introduction for any industry where these materials provide the qualities of low weight and high strength.

The driving force behind the development of this premium emulsion product was to achieve the performance of previous generation highly chlorinated EP TRIM® fluids without chlorine. TRIM® E950 has not just matched their performance, it has surpassed it, particularly with regard to tool life.

A field test in the UK with an aerospace subcontractor trialled TRIM® E950 against its highly chlorinated counterpart so their performance could be easily compared. TRIM® E950 clearly demonstrated its superiority by delivering a profound increase in tool life in the volume production of titanium and stainless steel parts.

TRIM® E950 is a proprietary blend of new vegetable-based technology and premium, traditional lubricity additives, formulated to yield a very high performance, low management metal removal fluid. It is operator friendly because of its mild contact nature and low chemical initial-charge odour. However, it is sufficiently robust to provide an extended service life and avoid the rancid odours associated with traditional emulsions.

These qualities give TRIM® E950 the credentials for wide acceptance in industry throughout Europe and indeed it is already attracting a great deal of attention in the aerospace sector in particular. Its non-chlorinated and non-sulphurised extreme pressure (EP) additives are proven to control built-up edge in tough operations on aerospace materials.

Hard water tolerant and very low foaming even in soft water areas, TRIM® E950 is a fine emulsion that ensures fast wetting to get the fluid to the point of cut. It also effectively coats the workpiece and chips to enhance tool life and maximise corrosion prevention. Very long sump life and low carry-off rates result in low total operating cost.
