Umeco Composites Process Materials' operation in the USA – Richmond Aircraft Products, Inc. - is proud to announce that following an audit, the company has been recommended for certification to AS9100 Rev. C. This standard is the quality management system (QMS) for the aviation, space, and defence industries developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). The overall objective of AS9100C is aimed at improving product quality and on-time delivery. A partial list of major changes for AS9100 Rev. C is below:
• To incorporate ISO9001:2008 changes
• To expand the AS9100 scope to include Aviation, Space & Defence
• A new requirement to address project management
o Organizations must ensure the product realization process is planned and managed in a structured and controlled way
• A new requirement for a risk management process
o A risk management process must be implemented which must consider responsibility, criteria, mitigation, and acceptance of risk
• Process control is required to identify and address special requirements, critical items, and key characteristics
• The organisation is required to measure on-time delivery and product quality, and ensure appropriate actions are taken if the planned objectives are not achieved
• The organization is required to formally monitor customer satisfaction data, and ensure appropriate actions are taken to address deficiencies
