PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH
On the 15th of December Christian Dries, the owner of Diamond Aircraft, handed over the MC-21 wing to Russian State owned company AeroComposite.
Within only two years Diamond Aircraft succeeded in completing the wing concept for the Russian passenger aircraft MC-21. The wing is based on the new Carbon-infusion technology that allows building big components, like tail units or wings, with high stability at low weight. The final assembly of the wing took place at Premium AEROTEC in Lechfeld, Germany.
"This prototype wing is a fantastic achievement which shows that this material, used for smaller aircraft since five decades, will have a major impact on the design of future airliners", says Christian Dries, Owner of Diamond Aircraft. "With only 0.3% porosity Diamond Aircraft developed the infusion process to its best."
