PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Cicor Newport Ltd (was TT Electronics Integrated Manufacturing Services)
TTems, the largest UK-owned global EMS provider, today announced that its Rogerstone, South Wales site had achieved AS9100, one of the world's most demanding quality standards, accrediting the site to manufacture safety critical flight systems for the aerospace industry. Achieving the standard is a key step in TTems' commitment to SC21, the aerospace industry supply chain programme of which the company is a signatory.
According to Andrew Cox, managing director of TTems Rogerstone, "As an AS9100 accredited site, we are approved to manufacture some of the world's most sensitive and demanding electronic systems, opening up new areas of business for us at Rogerstone. Our new accreditation also provides clear evidence to all of our customers of the exceptionally high standards to which we work here." He continued, "TTems has invested strongly in its Rogerstone site. The achievement of AS9100 is the strongest possible endorsement of the success of that investment programme and shows that we have succeeded in creating an exceptional manufacturing base that meets the needs of the UK electronics industry in the 21st century."
AS9100 is a widely adopted and standardised quality management system for the aerospace industry. It certifies that TTems has the controls, business management processes and quality procedures in place to support the manufacture of electronic systems that are integral to the safety of civil and military aircraft in flight. The accreditation strengthens an already impressive portfolio of approvals, including the TS16945:2002 automotive quality standard, the ISO14001:2004 environmental standard, BABT340, IPC-A-610D and ISO9001:2000.
