PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH
Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, Lindenberg (Germany), began delivery of the first flap actuation system for the Bombardier Learjet 85 programme in August 2012 and thus achieved an important milestone.
The flap system is designed, manufactured, tested, qualified and integrated by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, Lindenberg (Germany), Liebherr's centre of excellence for aerospace flight control/actuation and landing gear systems.
The first Safety of Flight (SOF) qualification tests of the flap actuation system started in July 2012. The qualification and flight certification tests are being performed in the presence of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at Liebherr-Aerospace in Lindenberg.
Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, Toulouse (France), Liebherr's centre of excellence for aerospace air management systems, is responsible for the design, manufacture, production and qualification of the integrated air management system for the Learjet 85 business jet.
Both companies have been carrying the design work from their home base together with the support of their Wichita-based engineering support team.
Liebherr-Aerospace has collaborated with Bombardier and Learjet for almost twenty years and supplies flight control, landing gear and air management systems for a wide range of Bombardier's commercial and business jet programmes.
