UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. has been selected by Cessna Aircraft Company to supply the wheels, brakes and an integrated brake control system for Cessna's newest business jet, the Citation Longitude. The products, delivered under the Goodrich brand, include an integrated braking system consisting of the main and nose wheels, carbon brakes, a digital brake-by-wire control system and a tire pressure monitoring system. "The selection of UTC Aerospace Systems for the Longitude's integrated braking system re-confirms our longstanding partnership with Cessna and creates an exceptional addition to our business jet portfolio," said Jim Wharton, president, Wheels & Brakes. "UTC Aerospace Systems currently provides wheel and brake products for thirteen 'in-service' Cessna Citation programs totaling approximately 6,000 aircraft. We look forward to playing an integral part in the success of Cessna's newest business jet."
Justin Salmans, vice-president, supply chain Cessna said, "The addition of UTC Aerospace Systems - Wheels & Brakes to the Longitude team represents the continuation of a 30 year relationship with a company that has proven its ability to meet Cessna's high standards."
