Space Coast Aviation Services and FlyItalia today announced that the first Italian-built MD3 Rider, an advanced S-LSA (factory-built Light Sport Aircraft) has been imported into the USA and has been recognized in conformance with the strict ASTM Standard 2245-06 for design and performance of an LSA.
Ron Bearer, Jr., President of Space Coast Aviation services, Inc., importer / distributor of the MD3 Rider, notes that this is an historic moment for FlyItalia, which has owned the MD3 Rider all along. "FlyItalia has finally brought the MD3 Rider home," he said to the press, "where its own workforce and practices can assure top quality and quick response to manufacturing demands."
Bearer noted that, although FlyItalia has indeed always owned the design, earlier examples were produced in the Czech Republic, the geographical and political distance sometimes leading to inefficient lags in communications, supplies, and various approvals. The new streamlined operation is very much to his liking. "This means we can now deliver in quantity, and on-schedule," he concluded.
With higher volumes of the MD3 Rider soon to be available, Bearer also opened the door to North America-based dealership inquiries.
