PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Unison Industries, LLC
Unison Industries today announced the consolidation of its global products and businesses under the brand name "Unison". The move will enable Unison to focus more closely on the needs of its general, commercial and military aviation customers and provide them with a clearer and more comprehensive approach to the sales and service of its electrical and mechanical aircraft engine and airframe components and systems.
Effective immediately, all products and services formerly offered under the Aircraft Parts Corporation (APC) or GE Elano brand names will be marketed under the Unison brand, and plants and facilities in New York, Ohio, Kansas, Canada and Thailand will be renamed "Unison."
"At this point in Unison's growth and evolution, having one consistent brand is essential to meeting the complex needs of our current and prospective customers," said Christy Alvord, president Unison Industries. "With one common identity, we can more clearly communicate our 'total solution' offering to the global aviation market and provide customers with more comprehensive product and support options."
Since its acquisition by GE in 2002, Unison has benefited from several strategic growth initiatives designed to complement and expand Unison's systems integration expertise. In 2004, GE merged Unison with Elano Corporation, a subsidiary of GE's Aviation business unit, to enhance Unison's integration capability for external, mechanical components on turbine engines and airframes. The following year, Unison expanded its electric power systems with the acquisition of Aircraft Parts Corporation (APC), a leading manufacturer of starter generators and generator control units for aircraft applications. With both companies successfully integrated into Unison's global operations, the brand consolidation will help Unison more clearly communicate the depth and breadth of its integrated systems offering to aircraft engine and airframe manufacturers worldwide.
As part of the brand consolidation process, customers will also have more focused, more comprehensive points of contact for OEM sales, aftermarket sales and customer service worldwide. In addition, Unison is simplifying the way it markets to customers by grouping its aircraft components and systems into five key product areas: Ignition Systems, Electric Power Systems, Wiring Systems, Sensing Systems, and Tube and Duct Systems.
