PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: DDC-I, Inc.
DDC-I, a leading supplier of software and professional services for mission- and safety-critical applications, today announced that its Deos™ safety-critical real-time operating system has been integrated with the LDRA tool suite® for use in developing and hosting next-generation avionics. The Deos/LDRA integration is ideal for developing and instrumenting avionics code, performing structural and unit test, post processing, and hosting the production code in the safety-critical cockpit environment.
"LDRA's tools are a perfect complement to our own proven safety-critical RTOS, which uses slack scheduling and cache partitioning to achieve optimal performance," said Greg Rose, vice president of marketing at DDC-I. "This integration gives developers the turnkey platform they need to quickly develop, debug, comprehensively test and deploy safety-critical software that can be readily certified to the most demanding avionics requirements."
"The LDRA tool suite has been used extensively with Deos on a custom basis for a number of safety-critical projects, including air data units, navigation systems and ground-based augmentation GPS systems by several avionics suppliers," added Ian Hennell, Operations Director of LDRA. "The LDRA/Deos integration provides a premier COTS platform that reduces the time and cost associated with developing, testing, deploying, and certifying safety-critical software."
The LDRA tool suite provides comprehensive automated software testing and code analysis for a broad range of military and aerospace, telecommunications, transportation, power, and medical applications. The suite covers the full software development lifecycle, including requirements traceability and programming standards checking (e.g., MISRA C:2004, MISRA C++:2008, JSF++ AV, and CERT C), code coverage, structural coverage analysis up to DO-178 Level A, automated unit testing, and test verification.
Deos is a safety-critical embedded RTOS that has been certified to DO-178 DAL A since 1998. Featuring deterministic real-time response, the time and space partitioned RTOS employs patented 'slack scheduling' to deliver higher CPU utilization than any other certifiable safety-critical COTS RTOS. Deos is built from the ground up for safety-critical applications, and is the only certifiable time and space-partitioned COTS RTOS that has been created using RTCA DO-178, Level A processes from the very first day of its product development. Deos also provides the easiest, lowest cost path of any COTS RTOS to DO-178 Level A certification, the highest level of safety criticality.
