PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Electro-Mech Components
Electro-Mech's new SW44585 compact potentiometer switch offers both rotary and push-on momentary functionality for maximum operation control. The compact all-in-one unit saves valuable panel space in applications where there are tight design limitations.
The SPST switch enables the user to specify a value so that at the push of a button, the circuit or channel automatically opens at the preset level. Featuring an optional edgelit knob assembly and a snap-feel momentary switch actuation, the SW44585 takes up less than 1.00" behind the panel. Typical applications for the SW44585 switch include industrial/avionics displays and audio controls, instrument panel controls, and other high-density panels. Previous models required additional behind panel depth.
Lightweight, the compact unit weighs less than one ounce and mounts a Vishay/Sfernice potentiometer module with a custom PCB tactile switch. The SW44585 mounts via two mounting screws into the front panel and interconnection is provided via either wire leads or solder terminals.
The SW44585 is rated for 5-100mA load at 0.1-50.0 VDC. Potentiometer resistance is 10K-?+10% but can be customer specified. Other features provided by the SW44585 include snap-feel momentary switching, an operating pressure of 14 oz. (+3 oz.), plunger travel of approximately 0.020" nominal, and a rated switch life of 500,000 minimum actuations.
Unit pricing is $19.00-$29.00 at 1,000 pieces depending upon options with delivery of 10 weeks ARO. Complete specifications are available on request.
