PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Stemme Production GmbH (Remos)
Corvin Huber, CEO of REMOS Aircraft, unveiled their new REMOS GX at the 2008 EAA AirVenture. Among the changes made over the predecessor G-3 model are a new wing, changes to the fuselage, an expanded cargo area, a ground adjustable Sensenich propeller and night VFR certification.
The wing is a totally new structure, made entirely of carbon fiber and utilizing monocoque construction. The airfoil has been modified for better penetration in turbulence along with allowing a higher roll rate. Stress tests demonstrated that the wing retains its full integrity up through +8 and -5 Gs. The wing features an integrated landing light and distinctive new LED position/nav lights.
The REMOS GX fuselage retains its basic dimensions, but is manufactured as a more integrated design that is stronger and lighter. A new dorsal fin contributes to improved flight stability and improves the aesthetics of the profile. New tie down rings have been added to the wing and tail cone.
An enlarged baggage space now allows the transport of golf clubs, hunting or fishing equipment. The aircraft retains its 650-pound useful load capability, one of the largest in the LSA industry.
The ground adjustable propeller by Sensenich will allow pilots to fine tune for rate of climb or rate of cruise depending on where they live or fly.
"There are 250 copies of the original G3 on flightlines all around the world," said Huber. "They have posted an excellent safety record and received high praise for their flight characteristics. However, we can never rest on laurels and will always seek ways to refine or upgrade the basic design. The new REMOS GX enhances a proven and reliable aircraft, bringing the latest technology into the mix and assuring that REMOS maintains its point position in Light Sport Aircraft going forward."
