Ionbond is pleased to announce that Airbus S.A.S has certified the Greensboro, NC, USA coating center for the production of PVD coatings according to Airbus process specifications (AIPS). The certification will allow the facility in Greensboro to provide coatings to Airbus directly and through its suppliers.

Ionbond has been a supplier to Airbus in Europe for a number of years through its coating center in Chassieu, France. This facility and the NADCAP certified coating center in Consett, UK serve as competence and supporting centers for Ionbond's global aerospace activities.

With the planned opening of the first assembly plant in Mobile, Alabama in 2015, Airbus has made a commitment to take aircraft manufacturing to the US with many US manufacturers supplying aircraft components. Having a certified coating operation in the US will assure optimal logistics and shorter delivery times of aircraft components for Airbus.
