SPP Canada Aircraft, Inc. (SPPCA), a global provider of Landing Gear
Systems for commercial aircraft, announced today that the company has been selected by Dornier Seawings GmbH an affiliate of the joint venture “Seawings Aircraft” (Jiangsu) Co. Ltd. as a Tier 1 supplier to equip its new all composite Seastar CD2.
As Dornier continues to place emphasis on design, build, market and support for the most advanced amphibious seaplane, the company has turned to suppliers with design, development and manufacturing competencies like SPPCA.
“The arrival of Dornier's Seastar CD2 program brings us exciting opportunities,” says Natsuo Hashimoto, President and CEO of SPPCA. “This initiative will allow us to demonstrate the technical and operational excellence that we have built up over the years and to apply it to this new exceptional aircraft.”
Following intense international competition, SPPCA has been awarded this contract after a demonstration of its technical capabilities, industry know-how and proven technology.
“SPPCA is strategically positioned to support the aircraft`s advanced capabilities,” says Dr. Albert Halder, President and CEO at Dornier.
Under the agreement, SPPCA will provide complete Landing Gear System's and Nose Wheel Steering System's for about 300 aircraft over a 10-year period.
