Indirect gas-fired 1400° F conveyor furnace from Grieve

No. 768 from The Grieve Corporation is an indirect gas-fired conveyor furnace, currently in use for heat tinting jet engine blades and vanes. With a maximum operating temperature of 1400 F, this furnace has a workspace measuring 24" wide x 9' deep x 8" high.

240,000 BTU/HR are installed in three auto-recuperating radiant tube gas burners. All applicable safety equipment required by IRI, FM and NFPA Standard 86 for gas-fired equipment is included in this Grieve furnace, which is built to JIC/NEMA 12 electric standards as well.

A 2' long open belt loading zone, 10' long insulated heating zone with recirculated airflow and a 2' long open belt unloading zone are featured. 6" thick insulated walls are comprised of 3" of 2300 F ceramic fiber and 3" block insulation. Air circulation within the heat zone is provided by a 3-HP water-cooled recirculating blower.

The furnace has a Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior. The 18" wide, B-18-16-2 woven wire 314 stainless steel conveyor belt has a 1/3 HP drive with variable speed from 2.5 to 7ft./hr.
