Issued by: ITT Cannon
EN3645 Certification is a key milestone that makes ITT Cannon connectors available to European commercial aerospace industry OEMs and suppliers.
ITT Corporation's Cannon brand has received EN3645 certification for its aluminum and composite Circular Series III connectors, certified in the United States under MIL-DTL-38999.
The certification followed rigorous testing, site audits and data collection by theAeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe Standardization (ASD-STAN). It makes these ITT Cannon connectors available for the first time to a wide range of customers in the European commercial aerospace market and supply chain.
“Building on our strength in the defense market, we can now offer our D38999 Circular Series III aluminum and composite connectors to European companies focusing on commercial aviation platforms,” said Tom Cruz, vice president and general manager of aerospace and defense for ITT's Interconnect Solutions business.” EN3645 certification reinforces our commitment to the global aerospace industry and opens up additional opportunities for ITT Cannon to contribute to the success of future commercial aircraft.”
ITT's D38999 Circular Series III aluminum and composite connectors provide reliable passage of radio frequency, data and power signals. Created for use in fuselage cable harnesses, electrical systems and avionics equipment, these connectors have performed reliably for years in the harsh environments faced by commercial and military aircraft.
“Our lightweight composites in particular will support production of modern aircraft, helping enable fuel efficiency and comfort,” said Nicki Kreger, aerospace and defense product manager.
