PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: W.L. Gore & Associates
W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. (Gore) and Amphenol Corporation recently launched high-speed interconnect offerings to deliver superior 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) performance for military and civil aircraft applications. Engineered for the demands of modern airborne digital networks, GORE Aerospace Ethernet cables exceed Cat6a requirements in a small, lightweight, flexible and routable package. These cables feature individually shielded pairs that provide enhanced electrical performance with lower signal attenuation and minimal crosstalk.
In addition, Gore's Cat6a cable terminated with Amphenol® Oval Contact System (OCS) 13-53 provides reliable signal integrity up to 80 meters while meeting the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) 568-C.2 requirements for high-speed data transmission up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gb/s). This connector-cable combination exceeds standard requirements by providing return loss less than -20 dB and crosstalk less than -55 dB through 500 MHz.
"We are excited about our collaboration with Amphenol to provide customers with high-speed Ethernet interconnect solutions," says Brian Tallman, Product Manager for Gore's Aerospace Team. He adds, "Thorough testing conducted by two independent labs showed that our cable is highly compatible with Amphenol's advanced OCS connector, and the combination delivers maximum performance for Cat6a protocol."
Jared Sibrava, Director of Amphenol's High Speed Solutions Business Unit says, "Coupling our OCS connector with Gore’s Cat6a cable is a huge win for the aerospace industry." He adds, "These two technologies fit hand in hand and provide the market with the highest performance rugged solution for 10 GbE."
