PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: BSI America
BSI, the business standards company, announced today that it has received approval from the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to deliver AS transition assessments and certifications to AS9100D, the revised Quality Management System (QMS) standard for the Aviation, Space and Defense sector. This certification is required for companies to maintain their status as a certified OEM or OEM supplier.
Organizations face a tight deadline to transition to AS9100D, with certifications to the previous standard expiring on September 14, 2018, which is less than two years away. As one of the first Certification Bodies accredited to audit to the new standard, BSI can help clients make the transition and benefit from the requirements in the new standard right away. Clients can gain a significant competitive advantage over peers who don't transition early.
Todd VanderVen, President, BSI Americas said, "The revisions to AS9100 underscore safety through risk-prevention as well as increased involvement of an organization's leadership team in the QMS. As one of the first major certification bodies approved to certify to the new standard, BSI demonstrates its commitment to our clients and their ability to provide safer products."
