PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Flatirons Solutions, Inc.
Flatirons Jouve is proud to announce its selection as the authoring supplier to Honeywell Aerospace for work done in support of the new Boeing 777x program. As part of the newly executed agreement, Flatirons will provide services to produce component maintenance manuals and related technical information needed by Boeing to support the delivery of 777x aircraft to customer operators.
The Boeing 777x program represents a large-scale update to the successful 777 program, which has seen the delivery of more than 1,500 aircraft since production started in 1993. Unlike previous generations of the 777 (which employed the iSpec 2200 specification for information exchange), the 777x will require suppliers like Honeywell to deliver technical information in the S1000D specification. The transition to S1000D is aimed at making manufacturer technical information more dynamic, relevant, and actionable to maintainers and operators of complex assets.
The S1000D specification is rapidly becoming the de facto standard for technical information exchange in aviation and in other complex asset industries, and is used as a medium of information interchange between aviation supply chain manufacturers and their customer operators. As part of the newly executed agreement Flatirons authors will provide all 777x maintenance information to Honeywell using the S1000D specification. Flatirons is expert in the creation and revision of compliant S1000D content thanks to the company's outsourced authoring services, as well its CORENA Suite of software (used to manage S1000D content for some of the world's leading aviation manufacturers and airline operators).
"We are excited for this opportunity to support Honeywell in its mission to provide the highest quality products and supporting technical information to airframe OEM customers like Boeing, and ultimately to airline operators for these new programs," stated Flatirons Chief Executive Officer JD Sillion. "The 777x program is strategic for Honeywell. We are looking forward to delivering high value to Honeywell." The period of performance for the recently executed agreement is 3 years, spanning 2018 through 2020.
