PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Applus+ BKW
Applus+ Materials Testing Laboratory in Bremen (BK Materials Technology Testing Center for Materials) has recently obtained various Airbus qualifications for conducting thermal analyzes to characterize aviation-specific materials.
The German test laboratory is now able to perform DSC tests on cured composites (AITM 3-0008 & AITM 3-0027), as well as DMA testing for Airbus and its suppliers.
Both test methods are used for the analysis of new materials as well as for quality controls in the production of aerospace components.
The DSC test is used to determine thermal properties such as the glass transition temperature, melting temperature and, using the reaction enthalpy, the degree of cure of the matrix. The DMA test is used to measure the mechanical properties under temperature influence of fiber composite materials and pure resin systems.
The laboratory in Bremen is NADCAP accredited for metallic and non-metallic materials and has already been approved for more than 70 mechanical and metallographic material tests by Airbus.
Applus+ Laboratories is represented in Spain (Barcelona) Germany, Norway and China.
