PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: F. List GmbH
List components & furniture GmbH has become part of aviation history with the first installation of stone flooring in an aircraft. Never before has a floor made of natural stone been installed in an aircraft. The Legacy 600 was delivered to the customer a few days ago.
"Barely a year ago we invested in the research and development of a new flooring design, based on the use of natural stone and weight reduction, and we've succeeded in bringing a world's first onto the market. We've recently received certification and a few days ago we were able to successfully conclude the first order," confirms Franz List, CEO of List components & furniture GmbH. For the installation in the Legacy 600, all qualification requirements, such as flammability, static, wet/dry slip testing as well as RTCM-Do160 were fulfilled and approved by STC.
The stone flooring
The manufacturing process is based on a stone slab, cut to 1.2mm, which is mounted to a backplate and then polished. The use of this ultralight stone flooring is primarily intended for the entry and bathroom areas. It can however also be partially incorporated in the main cabin, thus achieving a complete aesthetic solution. In addition to the visual innovation, the stone flooring is also easy to clean and has a long lifespan compared to previously used materials.
List components & furniture GmbH offers the stone flooring for all business and executive aircraft models.
Partnership with RUAG
In May List presented its partnership with the company RUAG, a specialist in the repair and modernization of business jets. The retrofit of the Legacy 600 also took place in Oberpfaffenhofen, the headquarters of RUAG.
