Latécoère today announces that it has joined Seamless Air Alliance in order to share its inflight connectivity expertise and contribute to the development of new standards.
The objective is twofold.
Firstly, to improve the in-flight Internet experience for passengers. The goal is to guarantee the same high-speed, low-latency connectivity from ground-to-air and back again on all routes.
Secondly, to reduce the costs of purchasing, installing and operating data access infrastructure. Providing open specifications for interoperability should result in the streamlining of systems, thereby facilitating their integration and certification. The consortium was founded by Airbus, Airtel, Delta, OneWeb and Sprint.
Latécoère CEO Yannick Assouad said: “Joining Seamless Air Alliance will position Latécoère as a contributor to the harmonisation of next-generation communications.”
