PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Radius Aerospace - Hot Springs
Triumph Group, Inc. announced today that its Aerospace Structures business has been selected by Gulfstream to manufacture a new order of fuselage frames for the Gulfstream G500 and Gulfstream G600 aircraft. Under terms of the agreement, which will run through 2020, Triumph Fabrications in Hot Springs, Arkansas will produce the fuselage frames with stretch formed extrusions that will then be machined into final configurations.
As original equipment manufacturers, like Gulfstream, transition away from hydroformed frames in favor of the newer stretch form technology, Triumph's expertise with this technique provides a viable option for aircraft manufacturers. Recognizing the need to stay current with industry manufacturing trends and processes, Triumph continues to invest in tooling and equipment necessary to ensure they can meet their customers' unique design requirements.
"We are very pleased to be continuing our collaboration with Gulfstream in support of their highly successful G500 and G600 aircraft," said Pete Wick, executive vice president for Triumph Aerospace Structures. "Our manufacturing expertise and versatility have proven to be a key driver in our continued relationship with Gulfstream."
The contract continues a strong relationship with Gulfstream, expanding the level of support Triumph Aerospace Structures provides the business jet manufacturer. In recent years, Triumph has also provided various wing, fuselage and componentry for the Gulfstream G280/G450/G550/G650 programs.
