PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Causeway Aero Group Ltd
As leading Northern Ireland based aerospace engineering company, Causeway Aero, gears up for the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2019 (AIX 2019) in Hamburg next month, it is celebrating after achieving the AS9100 accreditation.
AS9100 is a quality management standard (QMS) designed specifically for the aviation, space and defence industries. The accreditation promotes continuous improvement in the aerospace supply chain and ensures processes are accurate and consistent.
Causeway Aero CEO, Michael Rice, said, "Achievement of certification to this standard demonstrates to our customers that Causeway Aero's Quality Management System is robust and effective, offering them peace of mind. There is no room for error in this industry, and we have always strived to maintain the highest of standards and offer the best possible service at Causeway Aero, so we are delighted to be awarded this internationally recognised standard after our continuous hard work.
"Causeway Aero is most definitely open for business for our end-to-end services of new product introduction, engineering design, procurement, supply chain management, programme management and assembly."
The UK aerospace sector has the largest number of SMEs in Europe with strengths in design and manufacture. With production rates and aircraft deliveries rising around the world, UK aerospace output has grown exponentially since 2011, with annual turnover now reaching nearly £35bn. The sector directly employs 123,000 people, delivering high value jobs for a highly skilled workforce.
Michael concluded, "It is an exciting time for Causeway Aero, after the acquisition of Base in October of last year, and the company, with the continued commitment and focus of our staff, is moving at a fast pace in this sector. We are confident that we will continue 2019, and indeed beyond, in the positive manner in which it has begun. We have some exciting news in the weeks to come."
