Testing of aircraft systems on the Il-112V
Friday, 27 December 2019

At the flight test station of PJSC VASO (part of the UAC Transport Aviation Division), they began testing the aircraft systems as part of factory tests on the new promising light transport aircraft Il-112V. After the first flight, in preparation for preliminary tests on the aircraft, an on-board measurement system was installed, a number of improvements were made, and solutions for optimizing the take-off weight were worked out.

"Conducting factory tests at the VASO flight test station will allow us to carry out work on testing a number of systems that cannot be performed in workshop conditions. This will help save the total time planned for ground testing of the aircraft before conducting preliminary tests, "said Sergey Kremer, director of the LVTS program.

The second prototype IL-112V, designed for strength and life tests, is located at TsAGI.

"The third and fourth prototypes were put into production. Currently, their manufacture is at the stages of procurement, stamping and mechanical production, parts are being manufactured. As part of the program, the necessary measures to finalize the design documentation and reduce the weight of the structure were implemented. These aircraft will meet the requirements of the technical specifications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The production of pilot cars is planned to be completed by the end of 2021. In 2022, the aircraft will join the flight test program, "said Yuri Grudinin, head of DTA, general director of PJSC Il.

The enterprises of the Transport Aviation Division will be ready for mass production of the aircraft in 2022. Production facilities allow us to launch production of more than 10 Il-112V aircraft per year.

The light military transport aircraft Il-112V is the first cargo aircraft developed in Russia from scratch in the post-Soviet era. The new military transport aircraft should replace the aging An-26 fleet. IL-112V will be able to land at airports that correspond to ICAO category II minimums in automatic mode. Manual approach to poorly equipped and non-radio-equipped airfields is provided, including unpaved runways.
