PolyWorks, the standard point cloud engineering software solution for major automotive and aeronautic OEM manufacturers and suppliers worldwide to become AIMS-compatible.
Founded in 1994 in Québec City, Canada, with subsidiaries in the United States and China and distributors worldwide, InnovMetric Software Inc. has devoted its first decade of business to developing software that transforms high-density 3D digitizers into true metrology instruments. InnovMetric integrates a wide range of hardware measurement devices including laser scanners, arm-based & hand-held probing devices, and laser trackers within its software suite, transforming PolyWorks into a truly universal 3D metrology software platform.
"We are pleased to enter the AIMS community. The AIMS technology will help us create new market opportunities for PolyWorks," says Marc Soucy, President of InnovMetric Software Inc.
AIMS is a software solution developed jointly by The Boeing Company and Metronor. AIMS provides the link between CAD and Metrology necessary to connect manufacturing programs, processes and participants. AIMS comprises the software components for defining inspection, measurement and assembly plans, measuring the quality of manufactured parts per defined plans, storing the measurement results and generating process capability charts and graphs from the stored information.
"PolyWorks is widely used and accepted in our target markets, and it's integration with AIMS will help provide our customers with yet another opportunity for ensuring dimensional management throughout their entire supply chains," says Troy Niehaus, Vice President of Metronor's AIMS Business Unit.
