The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) and the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE) have agreed to work together on developing aviation industry standards. The Memorandum of Understanding, signed today, enables the two organisations to address issues such as hybrid electric propulsion, VTOL, cybersecurity, and will speed up the implementation of new technologies.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) provides a framework for cooperation between the two organisations. These include exchanging information, sharing expertise and best practices, and cross-participation in working groups. As a first step, GAMA joined EUROCAE as a Full Member earlier in 2020 in recognition of the efforts of both organisations to enhance aviation and promote strong cooperation in developing industry standards.
"GAMA looks forward to working closely with EUROCAE to further the development of industry standards. Through this collaboration, both GAMA and EUROCAE will be able to promote the important interests and activities of the aviation industry and our members. This partnership will help advance the exciting future development of the global general and business aviation industry," said Pete Bunce, GAMA President and CEO.
GAMA is already actively involved in the EUROCAE Working Group on VTOL and will join other working groups in the future.
