Steadicopter unveils the new Black Eagle 25E & Black Eagle 50E
Tuesday, 1 September 2020

Steadicopter unveils the Black Eagle 25E and Black Eagle 50E - the newest models of its RUAV - now operated with electric motors.

Converting Steadicopters Black Eagle 50 system to an electric-powered engine has significantly reduced the weight of the air vehicle, enabling additional, much required, payload capacity for a variety of missions. Weighing only 18 kg as a platform, each model has the capacity to carry additional batteries for longer flights, heavier payloads and more.

The Black Eagle 25E is designed for weights of up to 25 kg, making it suitable for tactical-urban missions, while meeting the strictest weight and category regulations. The Black Eagle 50E, weighing up to 35 kg, enables the best-in-class flight envelope with a wide range of mission payloads, giving the user the highest level of mission versatility for covert operations.

With a zero-logistic footprint, the Black Eagle 25E and 50E are the perfect fit for the ever-important maritime domain. The small dimensions of the platform within the small-tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) allow for efficient and safe operation. All Black Eagle systems are certified for use in the harshest maritime operating scenarios, according to the IP67 environmental standards. Powered by electric engines, these models are extremely cost effective, simple to operate, easy to maintain and, with no need for fuel storage, both environmentally friendly and safe.

Steadicopter is the only Israeli based small tactical RUAV manufacturer. This category of systems is an extremely interesting one, as the general notion was that unmanned small tactical rotary UAS are irrelevant due to the rise of multi-rotor drones and hybrid fixed wing / VTOL. However, due to the rise of these systems, which are great at their niche of missions, the advantages of the single rotor systems are now better understood. In general, their ability to carry a 5 kg payload for up to 4 hours when compared to multi-rotor drones, and hover for extensive periods of time when compared to the hybrid systems enable them to meet the requirement of specific mission needs.
