UAC specialists began docking the wing and tail of the updated Il-114-300 airframe
Wednesday, 20 January 2021

At the serial plant in Lukhovitsy, the next stage of assembly of the updated airframe of the second prototype of the Il-114-300 regional turboprop passenger aircraft has begun. Experts have docked the wing to the fuselage, installed a horizontal tail assembly. The aircraft is manufactured on an automated stand using the jigless assembly technology. This ensures a reduction in production preparation costs.

The aircraft is manufactured in broad cooperation of the UAC enterprises as part of the State Corporation Rostec. The work on the production of the wing and tail unit was carried out by the Voronezh aircraft plant VASO. Final assembly is carried out at the Lukhovitsk Aviation Plant named after P. A. Voronina - branch of RSK MiG. Aircraft developer - Aviation complex named after S. V. Ilyushina, head enterprise of the UAC Transport Aviation Division.

"The IL-114-300 has a number of undoubted advantages that make the airliner attractive to potential customers. The aircraft is easy to operate, its characteristics will make it possible to use the machine, including from unpaved strips, while the liner is economical - fuel consumption will be up to 500 kg / h. Today we are assembling the second prototype of the aircraft, which will receive an updated airframe. It is planned that the aircraft will join flight tests this year, which will speed up the introduction of the Il-114-300 to the market. In addition, manufacturing technologies are being developed on the second prototype, which will make it possible to establish serial production of aircraft in the shortest possible time, "said Oleg Yevtushenko, executive director of the State Corporation Rostec.

The second prototype Il-114-300 is being built using serial technologies. Stapleless assembly, used in the production of the new Il-114-300, is used in the creation of modern passenger aircraft. It ensures high precision of work. Correction of the position of units and components of the airframe is carried out using digital technologies.

"During the development and production of the new Il-114-300, modern domestic technologies and innovative solutions are used. A new propulsion system, a digital flight and navigation complex, new systems and equipment, most of which have been developed specifically for this aircraft and are being put into production for the first time. In cooperation with Rostec enterprises, which are suppliers of most of the components, we create a safe, comfortable, easy-to-maintain regional aircraft suitable for Russian operating conditions. It is planned that, in accordance with the work schedule, the second prototype aircraft will join flight tests in 2021, "said Sergei Yarkovoy, First Deputy General Director of PJSC UAC, Managing Director of PJSC Il.

Il-114-300 is a short-haul passenger turboprop aircraft. The aircraft is being created for local airlines, for operation, including in regions with a weak airfield infrastructure and in difficult climatic conditions. The Il-114-300 can be used to ensure air mobility of the population in remote regions of the North, the Far East and Siberia.

The main characteristics of the IL-114-300:

- maximum passenger capacity - 68 seats,

- maximum payload - up to 6.8 tons,

- cruising speed - 500 km / h,

- flight range with maximum payload (6.8 t) - 1400 km,

- ferry range - 5000 km,
