Lilium , an aviation company that develops thefully electricvertical take-off and landing ( eVTOL ) aircraft for regional air mobility service, and Aciturri, a leading supplier of aerostructures and aircraft engine components, announced a long-term agreement for the construction of the fuselage and wings of the Lilium Jet.

The agreement constitutes an important step in the development of the prototypes prior to the serial production of the Lilium Jet and confirms Aciturri's access to a new market segment, that of urban air mobility, in which it will be able to contribute its experience and knowledge accumulated in the design and manufacture of aerostructures for various programs of Airbus, Boeing and Embraer.

Aciturri will assume the production of the primary composite material structures of the Lilium Jet, using materials supplied by Toray Industries, a firm with which Lilium has an agreement to supply carbon fibre composite material.

The agreement allows combining the experience of the Lilium engineering team with the capacity and knowledge of Aciturri in the manufacture of complex aerostructures. Both teams will work together on a bespoke design, taking into account the industrialisation of the manufacturing process, the design of the complex fuselage structure, as well as the integrated canards and wing structures that support the aircraft's propulsion systems.
