GE Honda Aero Engines continues expansion of Foreign Certification Validation for HF120
Wednesday, 10 February 2021

GE Honda Aero Engines (GHAE) announces completion of the type certification validation for the HF120 turbofan engine with the Federal Air Transport Agency (FATA) of the Russian Federation.

"The HF120 has proven its rugged design with flawless entry into service in 2015, and customers are attesting to its unparalleled dispatch availability. The HF120 is well suited for operation in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States," said Melvyn Heard, president of GHAE.

Since entry into service, the GE Honda HF120 fleet of engines has accumulated more than 126,000 flight hours with class-leading reliability. The fleet of more than 340 engines has been operating with industry-leading reliability across the world with a global support network. Russian certification validation adds to the many HF120 engine approvals worldwide, including the FAA in the United States, EASA in Europe, CAAC in China, Mexico's DGAC, Brazil's ANAC, India's DGAC, Argentina's ANAC, Japan's JCAB and Transport Canada.

The HF120 fleet is supported around the clock and around the world with an Authorized Service Providers (ASPs) network comprised of select service centers from the industry, including Rheinland Air Service (RAS) for HondaJet Europe. GHAE's ASPs are equipped to perform line maintenance, engine installation and removal, and support of rental engine logistics for HF120 shop visits. The ASP network is further supported by a 24/7 GE Honda Operations Center and a team of dedicated Field Technical Managers (FTMs) and Customer Team Managers (CTMs).

"We are excited to enter the Russian market and are ready to support our customers along with RAS, our designated ASP since 2014." said Shinji Tsukiyama, executive vice-president of GE Honda Aero Engines. "We continue to align ourselves with the best service centers in the industry to deliver exceptional support for customers flying our engines."

GHAE offers long-term Engine Maintenance Care (EMCSM) programs that extend beyond the basic engine warranty, with coverage of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events. The two levels of service coverage offered under this program are EMC2, a hands-off solution for customers requiring comprehensive service, and EMCb, which is predominantly a parts-only program. Both programs are offered through the GE Honda ASP network.
