PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Green Charter 2022
It has been known for some time that the Windecker Aircraft R&D facility in America was working on "clean sheet" aircraft design that synthesizes new and established technologies. Like a number of aircraft companies, they have an engineering and technical skills staff of 25 people who work in a "top secret" environment. After three years of engineering, drawings, and analyzing a wide range of configurations and performance goals, they have developed enough tooling to begin to produce parts for a prototype.
Though details are harder to come by than Mickey Mantle rookie year baseball cards, it is anticipated that the prototype will fly in mid-2019, that it will be a Part 23 certified aircraft and will set new standards as the largest and most capable single engine aircraft in its class. The company has made it clear that no performance information will be disclosed until verified in flight tests by the prototype.
The new design which was called for by the company owner, Mr. Hang Wei, a Chinese businessman, is under the direction of aerodynamicist John Roncz. "We don't believe in sharing conjecture," said Mr. Wei, "though with the new powerplant we have selected for the prototype, we anticipate attracting a global market that should be pleased with the flight characteristics and efficiency of the aircraft."
The company plans to work with America's FAA for certification.
