JASPER, Ind., Apr 13, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Kimball Electronics Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Kimball International, Inc. (NASDAQ: KBALB), announced today that the Company's Indiana production facility has met all the necessary requirements for AS9100 registration. The new aerospace certification adds to the Jasper facility's services and capabilities to better serve the mission critical standards of military and commercial aerospace customers. Kimball Electronics Group (KEG) is a global top-twenty-ranked contract electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company that specializes in high reliability electronics with applications in the public safety, medical, automotive, and industrial controls industries.
AS9100 is an enhancement of the ISO9001 certification developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group with added focus on more rigorous requirements and expectations from the aerospace industry. AS9100 certification guidelines apply to design, new product introductions (NPI), manufacturing processes, and repair services for customers within the aerospace industry. Achievement of this certification implies that Kimball Electronics-Jasper (KEJ) has exhibited a consistent and robust quality management program for their manufacturing processes to ensure safety and reliability in all of their products. The AS9100 quality certification is accepted by most major aerospace original equipment manufacturers ensuring quality, manufacturing, and traceability processes are followed for aerospace customers.
