In January, NBI Bearings reached an agreement for the purchase of the 91.2% of the company 'Industrias Metalurgicas Galindo S.L.' based on the supply of equipment and solutions aimed at the aeronautical and industrial sectors. Established in 1968, the enterprise is currently a member of the HEGAN cluster (a private nonprofit association which gathers the aeronautic and spatial sectors of the Basque Country).

Since 2012, it has the EN 9100 certification (Quality Management System- which involve requirements for organisations related to the aviation, spatial and defense systems sectors).

In this purchase, NBI has chiefly valued the sector in which it operates, the management team, its recent performance and its current business plan.

The main objectives of the Group by carrying out this operation are as follows:

- The entrance of NBI in the aeronautical sector. The presence in such sector is considered strategic due to its high added-value. Moreover, it is a division with significant entry barriers, as it is necessary to obtain specific certifications and possess highly experienced staff with technical qualification.

- Support and reinforcement of the machining unit.

- Drive cross-sales.

- Exploitation of the know-how and the experience of the management team of Galindo with regard to the expansion of the Group.
