Aircell, the world's leading provider of airborne communications, announces that the company's business aviation group has received AS9100 certification. The prestigious achievement means the company's Quality Management System complies with the highest standards in international aerospace.
First released in 1999 by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and European Association of Aerospace Industries, AS9100 is a standardized Quality Management System specific to aerospace. Aircell's new accreditation confirms that its Quality Management System conforms to the strict requirements of all AS9100 (Rev. B) and ISO 9001-2008 standards.
John Wade, Aircell's Executive Vice President and General Manager, said, "Achieving such a distinguished level of international quality certification is a tremendous statement of confidence for our global customer base. With nearly 10,000 airborne communications sold, Aircell's success has come from being committed to quality in everything we do. Being recognized as an AS9100 organization gives credit to all Aircell employees that uphold the company's high standards each and every day."
For Aircell, the detailed AS9100 certification process encompassed every aspect of the company's Quality Management System, including product realization; product design, development, and support; manufacturing, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
Through its diverse line of airborne communications systems, Aircell offers the business aviation industry's largest selection of network services spanning multiple technologies that include air-to-ground, low-earth orbit satellite and geostationary satellite. For connectivity, in addition to its global SwiftBroadband solution, Aircell is offering its proprietary High Speed Internet system that operates on an advanced network of ground wireless stations in the United States.
