PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Heicks Parylene Coating GmbH
After intensive audit days at the beginning of 2016, the companies Heicks Industrieelektronik GmbH and Heicks Parylene Coating GmbH were included in the OASIS database (Online Aerospace Supplier Information System) of the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) by TÜV NORD CERT GmbH with the aerospace and defense certificate EN/AS 9100. At the beginning of this year, the two companies successfully mastered the re-certification for the new revision EN AS 9100:2018.
The standards of the EN/AS 9100 series confirm a comprehensive quality management system as a supplier to the aerospace and defense industry. In these areas, factors such as safety, quality and reliability are the focus. With the re-certification, this is certified generally and independently of the customer for the processes within production and internal procedures.
The long-standing EMS service provider in the aerospace sector can thus once again prove that, among other things, the traceability of all raw materials, materials, processes and tools used is proven. In addition to the basis of the EN/AS 9100 series, which forms ISO 9001 as the standard for quality management systems, around 105 additional requirements such as configuration management, risk management and project management are thus met.
According to its own information, Heicks is currently the only service provider in Germany that manufactures electronic assemblies according to the "aviation standard" EN/AS 9100, coats these assemblies with Parylene and can then demask bonding points or connection surfaces with a laser. The customer can receive the complete circuit board/assembly including Parylene coating up to device assembly, as well as the Parylene coating as an individual service offer from Heicks. Customer-specific solutions can be developed and implemented together with the customer. The basis for this is the established quality management system, which sustainably increases the process and product quality of Heicks.
Heicks Parylene Coating GmbH has many years of experience in the field of Parylene coating of circuit boards. The plastic-like coating effectively insulates the components and assemblies against moisture, corrosion, aggressive media and is also a diffusion barrier against gases. In addition, Parylene-coated assemblies also meet the high requirements of a salt mist spray test. This makes the Parylene coating ideally suited to meeting the constantly growing environmental requirements. Due to the low material usage, Parylene layers are very economical. Due to the micrometer-thin layer thickness of the Parylene, there is a fraction of the weight load compared to other seals, such as potting or painting. For components that normally require 30g of potting compound, the Parylene has a barely noticeable effect at 0.5-1g.
Today, the Heicks Group stands for innovative and high-quality solutions, including for the aerospace, medical, automotive and industrial electronics sectors. With the re-certification, the companies achieve global comparability, thereby securing their competitiveness and at the same time increasing efficiency and quality internally.
