PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: The DiSTI Corporation
The DiSTI Corporation, the world’s leading provider of HMI development solutions, has been selected by Boeing for the development of a solution that allows the aircraft software to run on desktops and simulations using the GL Studio software. The GL Studio HMI development software will be used for the real cockpit avionics as well in the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase.
“The T-7A Red Hawk is the U.S. Air Force’s next-generation trainer and will be flying for many generations to come,” said Christopher Giordano, VP UX/UI Technology at DiSTI. “DiSTI is excited and honored that Boeing selected our GL Studio HMI Tools for the T-7A prototyping and production Avionics.”
The aircraft is one of the two Boeing-funded prototypes built for the U.S. Air Force T-7A Advanced Pilot Training System and modified into the EMD design after the first flight test campaign. The U.S. Air Force awarded the $9.2 billion T-7A contract to Boeing and Saab in September 2018 for 350 trainer aircraft, 46 ground-based training systems and related ground equipment, with other 125 aircraft on option. The Boeing T-7A Red Hawk is an all-new advanced pilot training system designed specifically for the U.S. Air Force training mission. It includes trainer aircraft, ground-based training and support – designed together from the ground up.
