Innovative rotor blade monitoring on twin-rotor UAV: A new era in UAV technology with Certo Aerospace and Helitune
Wednesday, 24 July 2024

We are thrilled to have hosted Helitune CMTG at our Frome flight test facility in glorious weather last week. We are starting a new collaborative piece of work looking at rotor blade behaviours during flight operations on our 600kg MTOW co-axial UAS.

This collaborative effort will pave the way for new and exciting capabilities, such as monitoring blade-tip flight paths in real-time during flight manoeuvres. This new technique will be used in various aircraft and environmental conditions, allowing us to validate flight envelope limits without solely relying on computer simulations or ground test rigs.

Tony Shore, Business Development Executive at Helitune, commented:

"Helitune are thrilled to be working with Certo Aerospace on this innovative project to rapidly develop this cutting-edge twin-rotor UAV. This partnership combines Helitune's advanced rotor performance monitoring technology with Certo Aerospace's expertise in aerospace engineering, marking a significant step forward in UAV innovation.

"Together, we are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in unmanned aerial systems, setting new standards for performance, reliability, and safety. This exciting venture promises to deliver groundbreaking advancements in aviation technology, redefining the future of UAV operations."

Certo Aerospace Ltd is proud to be developing new and unique ways of reducing the time to market for large-scale UAS and working in partnership with great people within the UK to achieve this.
