Fabrinet (NYSE:FN), a provider of precision optical, electro-mechanical and electronic manufacturing services to original equipment manufacturers of complex products, announced today that it has achieved the AS9100 international aerospace quality system standard certification for its Bangkok, Thailand manufacturing facilities. Developed through consensus by international standards organizations, the AS9100 provides assurance in the quality, safety and reliability of products specifically manufactured for the aerospace industry. In conjunction with the aerospace certification, the company also announced that it had upgraded its ISO 9001 certification to ISO 9001:2008, the latest release.

It facilitates our entry into a new market for complex devices that values our core strengths of disciplined engineering, quality and precision manufacturing," said Dr. Harpal Gill, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Fabrinet. "We have successfully achieved ISO certification in four highly demanding market segments in terms of complexity, quality and reliability – telecommunications, automotive, medical device and now aerospace – and in doing so, demonstrate our continued commitment to quality throughout our operations."
In addition to the AS9100 and ISO 9001:2008 certifications, Fabrinet also holds numerous other quality system certifications including the ISO 13485, 14001, TS/ISO 16949, TL 9000 and OSHAS 18001 certifications.
